Prices and Sizes
Each price covers 7 days, delivery, pickup, and the weight shown. Your quote confirms the exact price before you book.
| Size | 7 day price | Weight included | Holds about | Common projects |
| 10 yard | $300 to $350 | 2 tons | 3 pickup loads | A bathroom, one room, a small concrete patio, subject to material approval and loading limits |
| 15 yard | $350 to $400 | 3 tons | 4 to 5 pickup loads | A garage or basement cleanout |
| 20 yard | $370 to $430 | 3 to 4 tons | 6 pickup loads | A whole house cleanout, a kitchen remodel, a one layer roof, subject to material approval and loading limits |
| 30 yard | $485 to $550 | 4 to 5 tons | 9 pickup loads | A packed estate cleanout, a large renovation |
| 40 yard | $600 to $750 | 5 to 6 tons | 12 pickup loads | Very bulky, light debris |
Extra days may be available at $10 per day, subject to availability and your quoted terms. Weight over your included allowance costs $50 to $55 per ton. Every load must also stay within the provider’s approved hauling limit, and paying an overweight fee does not make an unsafe load acceptable.
To find the lowest total, compare the full quoted cost of a container that fits both the volume and the weight of your debris, including any extra hauls. Our dumpster prices and sizes guide explains how to choose.
Village or Township?
Birch Run is two local governments. The village sits inside the township, and each has its own office and rules (village, township).
| Feature | Village of Birch Run | Birch Run Township |
| People (2020 census) | 1,525 | 5,888 |
| ZIP codes | 48415 | 48415 and 48722 |
| Office (county list) | 12060 Heath Street, (989) 624 5711 | 8425 Main Street, (989) 624 9773 |
If you are not sure which one you live in, check your tax bill or call either office. It decides who you ask about permits, trash, and the street in front of your home.
When Weekly Trash Pickup Is Not Enough
Both the village and the township get curbside service through the Mid Michigan Waste Authority (MMWA).
In the village, the MMWA village page lists Thursday pickup, set out by 7 a.m. Trash goes in the blue lid cart, with contents no more than 12 inches over the lip.
In the township, the most recent MMWA township guide we found is dated 2024. It lists weekly trash, set out by 7 a.m., with bags up to 55 gallons or cans of 20 to 35 gallons, each under 50 pounds. It allows two bulk items per week, picked up by a separate truck one to two business days later. Confirm current rules with MMWA at (989) 781 9555.
Confirm construction and remodeling debris acceptance with MMWA before setting it out. A kitchen tear out, a roof, or a full house cleanout will usually be too much for weekly carts and two bulk items.
Small Job, Big Job, or Haul It Yourself
Pick the option that fits the size of the job:
Projects That May Need a Dumpster
- Kitchen and bathroom remodels. A 15 or 20 yard usually fits, depending on the amount of debris. See our construction dumpster rental page.
- Roof replacements. Shingles are heavy, so a 10 or 20 yard is often the right size. See our roofing dumpster rental page.
- Estate, garage, and basement cleanouts. Furniture and boxes are bulky but light. See our residential dumpster rental page.
- Business cleanouts. The township’s rubbish ordinance, last amended in 2008, says businesses must arrange their own trash disposal. Confirm current commercial service requirements with the township. See our commercial dumpster rental page.
Yard Waste
Michigan law limits yard waste in landfills, so keep grass, leaves, and brush out of a trash dumpster.
- Village: MMWA lists the village among the communities with curbside yard waste, from the first full week of April to the first full week of December. Use paper yard waste bags or cans of 20 to 35 gallons marked Yard Waste Only, each under 50 pounds.
- Township: the township is not on MMWA’s yard waste list, and the 2024 township guide says trash containing yard waste will not be collected. Ask the township office about local options.
For a large lot clearing, ask us before you book. See our yard waste dumpster page.
Placement and Who Handles the Road
Keeping the dumpster on your own driveway is the simplest path. Measure first: a 10 or 15 yard is about 12 to 14 feet long, and the 20, 30, and 40 yard boxes are about 22 feet long. Place it on a hard, level surface entirely outside the road right of way, and tell us about new concrete, pavers, overhead wires, low branches, gates, and drainage ditches. Ask about boards under the rails. If the dumpster cannot fit on your property and must go on a road, who you call depends on the road:
- Birch Run Road east of I 75 carries M 54 and M 83, state highways handled by the Michigan Department of Transportation.
- Village streets: call the village office at (989) 624 5711.
- Township roads: the Saginaw County Road Commission at (989) 752 6140 requires a permit for any work or activity in the right of way of the roads it manages.

Service Area and ZIP Codes
ZIP codes can cross township lines, so a Birch Run or Bridgeport mailing address may sit in a neighboring township with different rules. Give us your full delivery address, and we will confirm whether we serve it.
| ZIP code | Mailing city | What it covers |
| 48415 | Birch Run | The village and township addresses |
| 48722 | Bridgeport | Some township addresses |
Birch Run Area Schools serve the village and most of the township, and I 75 exit 136 sits just north of Birch Run Premium Outlets. We also serve Frankenmuth, Saginaw Township, and the City of Saginaw.
Loading and What Stays Out
- Keep debris below the top edge or the provider’s lower marked fill line. Every load must stay within the provider’s approved hauling limit.
- Load heavy, flat items low and spread the weight evenly.
- Liquid paint, chemicals, tires, car batteries, lithium batteries, propane tanks, and asbestos stay out. See what can go in a dumpster.
- For household hazardous waste and electronics, check MMWA’s programs at (989) 781 9555. The Saginaw County Health Department also holds drop offs by appointment for county residents at (989) 758 3686.
- For propane tanks, ask a propane dealer whether it accepts your tank for return, exchange, or disposal.
